Working with the CE Communications Team was overall a positive experience. They were knowledgeable in their field, professional, and friendly. I was very impressed with the report they provided at the end of the project that included detailed analytics on the media coverage our event received.

OPPORTUNITY
The 2024 Total Solar Eclipse brought the opportunity for Kerrville, Texas to host thousands of eclipse-chasers at a viewing festival co-hosted by NASA and the City of Kerrville’s Parks and Recreation Department (PARD). The City of Kerrville PARD hired the CE Group to position, plan, promote, and produce a festival for all to enjoy the experience at Louise Hays Park.
SOLUTION
In the preliminary phase of this project, CE Group’s communication team worked with the client to create a media and public relations plan that involved several informational press releases highlighting the safety and security plan of the festival. We created an informative email campaign for local hotels to share with their guests during Eclipse weekend. We provided recommendations of the media application process, including a thorough questionnaire, guidelines, and a tiered approval approach. We began developing and pitching the proposed releases as well as managing and approving local, national, and international media while fielding their questions.
Overall, the coordination of media both before and during the event proved to be a success. Outlets and news programs from around the world, including CNN, CBS, The Today Show, The Times of London, and others were able to broadcast the celestial phenomenon with little to no obstacles and the client was highly pleased with our efforts. The event received an incredible amount of publicity with a total of over 3,100 mentions, a reach of 10.9 billion and a publicity value of $12.4 million.
