With the rapid and constant progression of technology, it has become critical for businesses and organizations to stay plugged in with the latest trends and developments to stay ahead of the curve. As an experience marketing agency, our team at The CE Group is well-versed when it comes to planning ahead and driving results.
When building a social media strategy as part of your overall communication plan, it’s essential to approach it with the same level of detail and intention as event logistics. Just as a successful event requires thorough planning, organization, and vetting, promoting that event through social media demands a strategic and thoughtful approach to ensure your message reaches the right audience at the right time.
Earlier this year, our Communications team worked with Brooks Development Authority and their non-profit organization, Brooks Gives Back, to promote their 6th annual official FIESTA event, Chanclas y Cervezas. In tandem with our media and public relations efforts we utilized the power of social media to help us spread the word of this puro party across San Antonio.
As a result of our strategic efforts, Brooks welcomed more than 5,000 Fiesta-goers to The Greenline Park breaking the attendance record and making this year’s Chanclas y Cervezas the most successful to date. Our social media strategy passed the test with flying colors (and chanclas!)
What did we do?
- Influencer Marketing Strategy
- With social media influencers coming into play, the power of word-of-mouth has never been stronger. In order to help us maximize pre-promotion, we partnered with a variety of influencers which helped us expand and significantly increase our reach. Our team coordinated agreements, worked with these local content creators on organic content that showcased the event, and set up giveaways where their audiences had a chance to score free admission tickets, local gift cards in the Brooks area and more. From lifestyle bloggers to family-friendly content creators, we were able to tap into each account’s following and invite all communities to come party for a purpose.
- Paid Social Media Ads
- Utilizing paid social ads is a game-changer for any social strategy. This year, we had access to a larger media budget, which allowed us to implement paid social media ads across Meta platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The strategic decision to expand the list of zip codes we were targeting, as well as considering additional geodemographic data, brought a substantial amount of success to our pre-promotional efforts.
- Utilizing Partnership Marketing
- We were able to grow our audience by tapping into the social media audiences of the event partners and sponsors. From Chanclas y Cervezas food and drink vendors, to event sponsors, our team worked to provide all involved parties with social media graphics, content, and tools to share on their social media platforms. Sometimes businesses want to post but just don’t know what to post; giving them the tools to post provides them with the confidence to do so.
- Staying On Top Of The Trends
- In our ever-changing society, it seems like the trends of social media continue to constantly transform day by day. Just like it is important to know who your specific target audience is, it’s equally important to know the latest trends and topics of discussion. For Chanclas y Cervezas, San Antonio’s Fiesta season was the talk of the town. We kept our event top of mind by sharing elements from our Fiesta event that our audience would remember, such as announcing the event’s biggest lineup to date, and showcasing fun and relatable event activities like the popular chancla throwing contest. Staying connected allows brands to not only stay informed but join the conversation in a way that will effectively reach the people you want it to.
