Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and creative Event Design Intern to join our team. This position offers hands-on experience in the world of event design and production, working alongside industry professionals to help plan, execute, and design memorable events. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and eager to learn about the various elements that contribute to successful event design.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Event Design: Support the Event Design team in brainstorming, concept creation, and visual design for events, including theme development, decor, and layout planning.
- Material Sourcing & Coordination: Assist in sourcing and coordinating vendors for decor, florals, lighting, furniture, and other event elements, ensuring alignment with the event’s theme and budget.
- Venue & Floor Plan Design: Create and edit floor plans using software like SketchUp and Social Tables. Assist in site visits to assess and photograph venues for design planning.
- Mood Boards & Presentations: Develop creative mood boards and presentations for internal and client-facing meetings, showcasing design concepts and ideas.
- Project Support: Provide logistical and administrative support during the planning phase, including preparing design proposals, scheduling meetings, taking notes, and managing timelines.
- Event Installation: Assist in the setup and teardown of event designs onsite, including decor installation, signage placement, and coordination with suppliers.
- Inventory Management: Help manage inventory for decor elements, props, and supplies, maintaining an organized system for storage and usage tracking.
- Trend Research: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, design inspiration, and innovative event solutions to contribute fresh ideas to the team.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Event Planning, Design, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
- A passion for event design, creativity, and visual aesthetics.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), AutoCAD, Social Tables, or other relevant tools.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for setup and teardown activities.
