The CE Group is seeking a strong, dynamic, and energetic Communication and PR account manager to pitch, promote, and publicize statewide. The candidate must be able to handle an array of projects at a time; this is a project-based position based on client needs. This is not an entry-level position. This position features a wide degree of creativity and latitude, working with a growing team of public relations, social media, and marketing professionals.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include:
- Lead the development and execution of client marketing and communications plans
- Create relevant and effective content across channels to include website copy, social media posts, email blasts, blogs, award nominations, talking points, and media materials on behalf of clients
- Drafting media relations materials, including news releases, pitch letters, fact sheets and other content for pitches, reports and proposals
- Develop and cultivate strong understanding of local, regional, and national media landscapes and their contacts
- Researching and pursuing media and promotional opportunities to promote the CE Group and its clients
- Responding to information requests from the media and proactively pitching stories to media to obtain coverage for clients
- Helping clients communicate effectively with various audiences and target markets
- Helping build and maintain client’s image and brand identity
- Arranging interviews for clients and appropriate spokespeople
- Attending client meetings and coordinating communication with clients
- Networking and positively positioning the CE Group for new business, connections, and relationships among the community
- Potentially traveling statewide to represent CE Group and clients professionally at events
- Measuring and reporting project updates and results
Qualified candidates will be self-starters who possess the following skills:
- Extensive knowledge of the public relations industry and how to successfully work with the media and various publics
- Must be a confident communicator and presenter
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
- Must possess excellent writing and editing skills
- Ability to grasp client needs and consider practical solutions
- Ability to create and manage effective outreach campaigns to align with client goals
- Ability to work both independently and as an integral part of cross-functional teams
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and balance work on multiple projects at same time
- Ability to provide exceptional service to agency clients
- Experience in securing coverage in both traditional and online media as well as opportunities with media influencers
- Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with attention to detail
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing and/or Public Relations preferred
- Minimum four years of experience in public relations, journalism, social media, copywriting and/or marketing
- First-hand knowledge and application of:
- AP Style
- Email marketing strategy
- Microsoft Office suite software, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Experience with social media strategy and content development platforms such as Creator Studio, Canva, and Hootsuite preferred
- Public relations tools such as Meltwater, Cision, HARO, and wire distributions preferred
- Digital communication platforms such as WordPress, Mailchimp, and Constant Contact preferred
- SEO preferred
